Abstract
PURPOSE:To facilitate the easy formation of the multi-beam type formation beam antenna by securing the square shape for the opening of the electromagnetic horn along with cutting the corner parts into the equal square form and then combining these squares. CONSTITUTION:For the opening of the electromagnetic horn, the square including a side (b) is cut off by the four corners of the square including a side (a+2b). The wavelength of the basic wave in the TE mode caused at the opening in that moment is nearly identical to the circular opening having the diameter equivalent to the length which is shortened properly in accordance with length (b). Accordingly, for the propagation mode of the electromagnetic wave, the equal circular opening equivalent to the averaged fringe form is obtained. As for the radiation pattern, nearly the identical pattern is secured between E and H faces if a:b=2:1 is satisfied. The horns of such shapes of openings can be combined easily through the approximate distribution. As a result, the formation is secured for the multi-beam type formation beam antenna which has the distribution of the optional and desired shape and can be mounted on the satellite.
