Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a horn antenna having a small variation of the beam width caused by the frequency variation, by attaching the concave lens to the aperture part. CONSTITUTION:Dielectric concave lens 4 is mounted at aperture part 2 of horn antenna 1. Owing to this concave lens, the phase error at the center area of part 2 increases to peripheral areas as the frequency becomes high and in comparison with the antenna having no concave lens. In other words, the frequency characteristics of the phase error increases with attachment of the concave lens. As a result, the width of the beam increases more with attachment of the concave lens. In such way, the frequency characteristics can be reduced for the width of the beam. In other words, the variation of the beam width due to the variation of the frequency can be reduced.
