Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform the solvent extraction of U effectively in the manufacturing process of crude phosphoric acid in which rock phosphate is decomposed by sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid by a means in which U is transferred to and dissolved in the portion where the concentration of phosphoric acid is low.
CONSTITUTION: The rock phosphate powder 1 is mixed with the acid 3 for decomposition in the premixer 2, and the partially slurried phosphoric acid-lime mixture is sent to the decomposition tank 4 to which is added sulfuric acid.
