Abstract
PURPOSE: To efficiently provide constant quality product in a short period of time by a method wherein aqueous slurry of raw gypsum is continuously charged into a pressure reactor for hydrothermal reaction, then is continuously discharged.
CONSTITUTION: Aqueous slurry of raw gypsum is adjusted in a slurry adjusting tank 1, and is continuously charged, for example, into a horizontal reactor 2 by pump 7. In the reactor 2, the slurry is heated to 105W170°C, or preferably to 120W 150°C so that hydrothermal reaction proceeds. The reaction product is continuously discharged from the reactor, enters a reservoir tank 3, is guided into a liquid-solid separator 5 to remove water content, then is taken out as wet product. In this method, gypsum dihydrate, gypsum hemihydrate, soluble anhydrous gympsum, or their mixture is preferably used. As solvent for aqueous slurry, water, aqueous acid solution, or water-soluble organic solvent-contg. water solution may be used.
