Abstract

PURPOSE: To exercise safety control over a water conveyance system by inputting the flow rate of the duct of the water conveyance system and instrumentation values of the water level and valve state of a distributing reservoir to a computer and then by performing simulation computation using the forecasted value of the flow rate and programmed value of operation of the water conveyance system that the computer has held.
CONSTITUTION: Clear water filtered in a purification plant is collected at purification well 1, from which the water is supplied to distributing reservoir 2 by way of water service pump 6 and a water pipe, further conveyed to distributing reservoirs 4 and 5 via water pipes 9 and 10, and furthermore supplied to a group of consumer's houses from distributing reservoirs 2, 3 and 4 via water pipes 11W14. A central supervisory office is provided with a computer for a supervision and control over the water conveyance system and instrumentation values of water levels, valve states of distributing reservoirs 2W5 are input as well as the flow rates of ducts 7W10 of the water conveyance system so as to carry out simulation computation using the forecasted value and programmed value of the operation of the conveyance system that the computer is holding. When the result of the computation shows safety, the operation is performed on the basis of it.
