Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent seizure between die and billet by forming the inside surface of circular cone up to the billet extrusion port of a die inlet part with two surfaces, forming the billet end part to be pressed by the die to the two outside surfaces of circular cone as well and yet specifying the surfaces of circular cone opposing to the die and billet.
CONSTITUTION: The inlet part of a die 11 is formed by two continuous inside surfaces 13, 14 of circular cone. The opening angle α1 of the inside surface 13 of circular cone on the outer side is kept at 90° or under and the opening angl α2 of the inside surface 14 of circular cone on the inner side continuous to the inside surface 13 at 160 to 200° . Further, these are so formed that opening angle difference (α21)of both inside surfaces become more than 90°. A billet extrusion port 11a is provided in the central part of the inside surface 14. On the other hand, a billet 12 made of Al or other is formed at its die side end part to two continuous outside surfaces 15, 16 of circular cone so as to oppose to the inside surfaces 13, 14, wherein the opening angle β1 of the outside surface 15 is made smaller by more than 5° than the opening angle α2 and the openlng angle β2 of the second outside suface 16 of circular cone is made smaller by more than 5° than the opening angle α1.
