Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible the cold drawing of titled steel pipe, which has been manufactured until now depending on the extrusion method, by employing a specially shaped pipe blank for making equal the reduction balance between the pipe portion and the fin portion, at cold drawing of the steel pipe with the fin of irregular shape.
CONSTITUTION: At manufacturing the steel pipe with the fin of irregular shape whose sectional shape is asymmetric with respect to the axis X and is symmetric with respect to the axis Y, and the central axis X' of the thickness of the fin at the fin portion 1 is deviated from above axis X, the pipe blank Po is employed for drawing; in this pipe blank Po, the central axis X" is deviated by a suitable amount (decided according to the drawing percentage), from the pipe P' of the shape similar to the steel pipe P, to the side of above axis X; and after fixing the central axis, the pipe blank Po is drawn through the dies 10 (the working plane 10a of the pipe portion is made round, and the working plane 10b of the fin portion is made taper).
