Abstract
PURPOSE: To form a thick blank by small forming force with good accuracy by dividing the forming to two or more times in the meridian direction and suitably combining the forming temperature and forming amount of each time at the time of integrally hot pressing an end plate by an upper die as a compound die and a lower die as a compound or ring die.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of integrally hot pressing a blank 4 to an end plate by a compound die 1 being an upper die and a ring die 2 being a lower die 2, the forming is performed by being divided two or more times in the meridian direction. At this time, the initial molding temperature is made around 900°C and the forming of the 2nd and subsequent times is performed by suitably dividing the deformation amount of each time according to the total forming times by making the forming temperature at above the first time forming temperature and while making the same subsequently higher within the range of the hot working temperature or less of the steel blank. The forming force becomes the forces combining the force bending the blank in the meridian direction at the contact point 4a between the upper die 1 and blank 4, the force compressing the portion not in contact with the upper die 1 in the circumferential direction and the friction force between the blank 4 and the upper and lower dies. This forming force is larger as the central angle Q of the portion in contact with the upper pie 1 is larger, i.e., as the forming amount is larger, where the forming temperature is constanct and as it goes closer to the final stage of the forming.
