Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent part of a blank material from being exerted with local high load and smooth forming by shaping the circumference of the end face in the circular cylindrical part of the blank material to a circular cone shape, then deforming this circular-cone-shaped part by pressing thereby forming a semispherical part.
CONSTITUTION: A blank material 19 consisting of a circular cylinder having a prescribed height and diameter is obtained by blanking or the like from a plate material of bimetal materials. Next, a circular cone part 10c of a required size is formed on the circumference of the end face of a main body part 19a, thence with blank material 19 with its backing metal part 19b downward is dropped into the circular cylindrical recess 22 of a lower die 21. Next, when a male die 23 making a pair with the lower die 21 is lowered by aligning the axial centers of their respective recesses 22, 24, the upper circumference of the material 19 first abuts on the inside surface of the semispherical recess 24, thence it is depressed and deformed inward in the diametral direction of the material 19. Further when the upper die 23 lowers until it makes press-contact with the lower die 21, the forming of a shoe 15 is completed. After this, the shoe is removed from the dies, and the surface of the semispherical part is subjected to treatment such as carburizing.
