Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture dies for pressing inexpensively and prevent the formation of star marks in pressed products by forming multiple round holes of a specific inside diameter or under to at least part of the forming surface of the dies.
CONSTITUTION: If a punch 4 is lowered toward a die 3 after a blank material 6 is inserted between the punch 4 and the die 3, the punch 4 and the die 3 act cooperatively to plastically deform the blank material 7, by which the material is molded. At this deforming of the blank material 6, the blank material 6 slips on the forming surface 5 of the punch 4; therefore, even if there are dust, iron powder, etc. that become the cause for star marks between the blank material 6 and the punch 4, these dust, etc. are dragged and removed by the slip of the material 6 and are all forced into the round holes 7 on the forming surface 5 which have been drilled in multiplicity to ≤6mm inside diameter. Because of this, no star marks are produced on the pressed product.
