Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the corrosion resistance of the crucible for melting a selenium alloy to the selenium alloy by a method wherein an inner surface in aluminum or an aluminum alloy is coated with an alumite film. CONSTITUTION:An alumite film is formed on an inner surface in aluminum or an aluminum alloy within a range of 10-50mu thickness according to a vitriolic alumite method, an oxalic alumite method or the like. Cracks are easy to be formed when the film is too thick, and cracks are deeply built up when the thickness exceeds 50mu and corrosion resistance deteriorates. The crucible in aluminum or the aluminum alloy to which such an alumite film is mounted is excellent in corrosion resistance to a molten selenium alloy more than a crucible in stainless steel. Thus, the quantity of impurities mixed into the selenium alloy from the crucible is decreased.
