Abstract
PURPOSE:To effectively perform dephosphorization at low cost, by adding a dephosphorizing agent of 2CaO.SiO2 powder and an oxidizing agent into molten iron and stirring them to oxidize P in the molten iron by the oxidizing agent. CONSTITUTION:A powdery dephosphorizing agent 5 which is 2CaO.SiO2 powder or whose main constituent is that powder and an oxidizing agent such as mill scale or iron ore for oxidizing phosphorus are added to molten iron 3. They are stired by gas blown in through a lance pipe 6. At that time, lime powder may be added to the molten iron. The content of the 2CaO.SiO2 or (2CaO.SiO2+CaO) is preferably 25kg/t.pig or less. It is desirable to add 1 to 100 parts of the lime powder as against 100 parts of the 2CaO.SiO2 powder.
