Abstract

PURPOSE:To injection-mold a thermosetting resin without gelling the same, by using a sprueless injection molding machine having a stationary torpedo portion fastened to a manifold, a movable torpedo portion adapted to be moved forwardly and backwardly, and a temperature regulation heater disposed in the torpedo. CONSTITUTION:When the amount of a resin in a front end portion of a cylinder 2 has reached a predetermined level, the resin is injected by a screw 1 into a hollow 13 in a manifold 3. The temperature of the resin in the manifold 3 is regulated from the side of a torpedo 7 provided with a heater 8 therein and from the side of the inner surface of the monifold 3. Accordingly, the resin advances toward a nozzle portion 4 without being locally heated to be gelled. When the resin in injected into the hollow 13, the pressure therein increases to allow a movable torpedo portion 7b to be moved backwardly. As a result, the nozzle portion 4 is opened so that the resin flows into cavities 6 via a sprue portion 11 and a runner portion 10. When a movable mold 5b is separated after the resin has been hardened, the pressure in the hollow 13 decreases so that the movable torpedo portion 7b is moved forwardly by the resilient force of a spring 16. The nozzle portion 4 is thereby closed as partially gelled resin is forced out therefrom by the movable torpedo portion 7b.
