Abstract
PURPOSE:To achieve the improvement in yield and make the bonding to a metal sleeve easy by bonding optical fiber strands to the metal sleeve by means of an adhesive agent together with the core covering by interposing a glass sleeve. CONSTITUTION:Core covering 6 is stipped and a glass sleeve 8 is fitted onto a strand 7. An adhesive agent is poured into the spacing 9 therebetween to bond the sleeve 8 and strand 7. Next, the adhesive agent is coated on the portion of the core covering 6 where a metal sleeve 5 is to be bonded as well as on the outside surface of the sleeve 8, after which the metal sleeve 5 is put on to bond the covering 6, sleeve 8, strand 7 and sleeve 5. This metal sleeve 5 in fixed to molds and is plastic- molded by using low-pressure molding material. Then, even if external force is applied to the strand 7, the going in and out of the strand 7 from the plug end face may be prevented. Thereby, the connector of good productivity and low cost may be obtained.
