Abstract

PURPOSE: To defoam and fill a liquid material in a short time while stabilizing the composition and pot life of the liquid material by a method wherein a container filled with a liquid material is rotated to remove bubbles from the material through centrifugalizing, and the material is filled in a container in a highly dense state.
CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal 20 is charged into a container composed of two base glass plates 17 sandwiching a spacer 18, from an opening 19. Liquid-crystal indicators 16, with their openings 19 open, are set in holders 6 of a cectrifuge 1D. With the centrifuge 1D rotated through a driving shaft 5D, the holders 6 are rotated in a horizontal plane, so that bubbles mixed in the liquid crystals 20 are separated and removed out of the container via the openings 19. In this way, even extremely minute bubbles can be separated, and the liquid crystal (liquid material) is densely filled in the bottom portion of the container. Evaporation of solvent from the liquid material does not occur during the defoaming process, and the viscosity and composition of the material are stabilized.
