Abstract
PURPOSE: To throw raked scum into a scum-throwing hole and then discharge it to the outside exactly by making plural scum skimmers touch with scum pipe in order from the center of a round sedimentation basin and then by inclining them as the scum skimmers swirl.
CONSTITUTION: The periphery of the scum pipe 11 is provided with the scum- throwing hole 13 which is usually formed above the water surface so as to be situated in line with the water surface of the round sedimentation basin 1 at the time of collecting scum. When rotating the rectifying cylinder 6 by a motor, the scum skimmer 7 moves swirlingly on the surface of water being treated to rake scum floating on the water surface and then comes near the scum pipe 11 to throw the scum into the scum-throwing hole 13 formed in the scum pipe 11. Furthermore, as the scum skimmer 7 swirls, it is pushed down by the scum pipe 11 and then passed by below the pipe 11 in the flatted state. Then, the skimmer 7 is again uprisen by the action of the balancing weight 18 and swirls on the water surface in the uprisen state under the regulation of the stopper 21 to effect its scum raking function again.
