Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a coil with high mechanical strength and high cooling effect by a process having the steps of coating a superconductive wire with fibrous insulating material, applying an insulating varnish, thereto hardening the varnish into a semi- cured condition, winding a plurality of semi-cured elements into a coil and completely curing the varnish while applying a pressure. CONSTITUTION:A fibrous insulator 8 is coated on superconductive wires 1 and insulating varnish is hardened in semi-cured condition after applying insulating varnish process to the insulator 8. Then, the wires 1 are inserted into a spool 7' with an opened upper end through a spacer 9 and an insulating sheet 10 and a coil is wound in a predetermined shape. Finally, a pressing plate 11 is provided on the opened upper end of the spool 7' through the spacer 9 and the insulating sheet 10. The varnish is completely hardened while pressing the wires 1 and the plate 11 is additionally pressed and welded to the spool 7'. In this way, the wires 1 are combined each other and a refrigerant such as liquid helium is filled up in the room 12 caused by the spacer 9.
