Abstract

PURPOSE: To accomplish complete combustion of a composite fuel gas irrespective of changes in gas density and theoretical fuel-air ratio by a method wherein mixture ratio of fuel gases is so controlled that the ratio a/ρ1/2 (a and ρ are the theoretical fuel-air ratio and the density, respectively, of the composite fuel gas) will be constant.
CONSTITUTION: Three kinds of fuel gases XWZ are fed into a gas mixer 3 through throttling mechanisms provided with flow control valves 1, 4, 5 and differential- pressure detectors 2, 6, 7, and are mixed together in the mixer 3 to be a composite fuel gas. The desities and theoretical fuel-air ratios of the fuel gases are detected by detectors 10W12 and 13W15, and the outputs of the detectors are fed to an arithmetic unit 16. The unit 16 calculates such fuel gas flow rates that the ratio a/ρ1/2 (a and ρ are the theoretical fuel-air ratio and the density, respectively, of the composite fuel gas) will be constant. The calculated flow rate values are fed out as setpoints for flow rate recording controllers 18W20, which controls the valves 1, 4, 5 on the basis of actual flow rate values detected by the detectors 2, 6, 7, thereby controlling the mixture ratio.
