Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve ignition and extinguishment performance by a method wherein a liquid fuel is fed through a liquid reservoir tank, and the pressure inside the tank is controlled to restrict the surface level of the liquid fuel fed into an oil reservoir for a combustion cylinder.
CONSTITUTION: With a liquid fuel fed from a fuel tank under the condition where the first and second solenoid valves 8 and 12 are open, the fuel is reserved in a feed pipe 6, liquid reseroir tank 7, and oil amount regulating tank 9 with the same liquid surface level. In this condition, with the valve 12 closed and a pump 11 operated, the pressure of air sealed in the tank 7 is increased to push down the liquid surface level in the tank 7. Since the back flow of fuel from the tank 7 to the tank 9 is clocked by the valve 8, the fuel in the tank 9 is fed through the pipe 6 into an oil reservoir 3, where it is heated to evaporate and burnt. With the valve 12 opened, the air pressure in the tank 7 decreases, and the fuel in the reservoir 3 is drawn back, to effect extinguishment.
