Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the chip area of the P-channel MOSFET of the buffer by providing the booster circuit using the dobule-voltage rectifier circuit into the chip and thus driving the gate of the output buffer circuit with the output of the booster circuit. CONSTITUTION:The CMOS.IC consists of logic circuit 1, output buffer circuit 2, gate driving circuit 3 and booster circuit 4 each. Logic circuit 1 features the CMOS circuit containing the oscillator, the divider and other digital logic circuits, and the output of circuit 1 drives the gate of circuit 2 via circuit 3. Circuit 3 includes level shift circuit 6 and inverter circuit 7. Both circuit 1 and circuit 2 operates on voltage VDA-VSS, and circuit 3 operates on the voltage boosted at circuit 4. As a result, the negative bias is deepened for the P-channel MOSFET of the buffer circuit, and thus the chip area is reduced.
