Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the irregularity of a conversion output voltage with preferable temperature characteristics of a magnetoelectric transducer and arbitrarily obtain any conversion output therefrom by obtaining the output signal responsive to the relative displacement between a magnetic reluctance element and a signal magnetic field generator. CONSTITUTION:A constant bias current I is supplied from a constant-current source CS to supply terminals T1, T2 in longitudinal direction of a current path IC of a flat bond-like magnetic reluctance element MR made of anisotropic ferromagnetic material. The element MR is faced with a bias magnetic field generator MGB for generating bias magnetic field HB having sufficient strength for magnetizing the ferromagnetic material in saturated state, and a signal magnetic field generator MGS for generating a signal magnetic field HS. The output voltage Vx obtained between the terminals T1 and T2 becomes a voltage proportional to the length x when the directions of the fields HB and HS are constant.
