Abstract

PURPOSE: To keep fluctuations of air fuel ratio approximately constant throughout the operation range by installing an auxiliary air bleed vent which runs beside a main air bleed vent and is opened or closed by a selector valve which in the upstream of the auxiliary air bleed vent is connected to a venturi by a balance passage.
CONSTITUTION: Fuel in a float chamber 5 of a carburetor is fed from a main jet 6 via a fuel passage 7 into a main nozzle 9 opened to a venturi 8. The fuel passage 7 reaches a main air bleed vent 12 in which an emulsion pipe 11 with a main air bleed jet 10 is stored. An auxiliary air bleed vent 13 is installed to guide a current from the upstream emulsion pipe 11 into the air cleaner or the venturi 8. A valve body 16 in an electromagnetic control valve 3 is connected to the vent 13. The vent makes downstream and upstream connections to an auxiliary air bleed jet 14 and balance passage 15 having a jet 22 and opening to the most contracted space of the venturi 8.
