Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent breathing phenomenon due to momentary reduction in fuel- air ratio in accelerating operation by eliminating overshoot phenomenon of the opening of a variable venturi portion.
CONSTITUTION: A negative-pressure transmission passage 14 for introducing the negative pressure present between a throttle valve and an air valve 11 is communicated with a diaphragm chamber 13 of a diaphragm device 12 which drives the air valve 11, and in the course of the passage 14 is arranged a negative-pressure regulating check valve 15 which is communicated with the atmosphere by opening of a valve. Therefore, in accelerating operation, a ball valve 18 parts from a valve seat 21 to open, and the atmospheric air is instantaneously introduced into the passage 14 through the opened orifice at the valve seat 21. Accordingly, since the negative pressure directed to the chamber 13 on the downstream side of the valve 15 is not increased rapidly but is controlled adequately, the valve 11 respondingly opens in such a manner as to keep the negative pressure inside a mixing chamber at a set value.
