Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve driveability of an engine in its state at high temperature, by connecting the negative pressure chamber of an exhaust gas recirculating (EGR) valve and the diaphragm chamber of an idling speed increasing diaphragm device through a check valve.
CONSTITUTION: When an engine becomes a high temperature state with its temperature not lower than a prescribed degree, the atmospheric air is introduced from an air-fuel ratio corrector 9 via a passage 25 and negative pressure passage 24 on one hand to a diaphragm chamber 72 on the other hand to a negative pressure chamber 32 via a passage 24' through a check valve 8. In this way, a spring 71 in a diaphragm device 7 actuates a throttle valve 61 through a link 65 to perform idling speed-up operation. At this time, an exhaust gas recirculating (EGR) valve 3, because the atmospheric air is introduced to its negative pressure chamber 32, is forcibly closed despite a state of operation of a pressure-regulating valve 5 to perform smooth operation of the engine at its idling speed.
