Abstract
PURPOSE: An α-halogenocarboxylic trialkylsilyl ester is used as a starting material to produce title compound useful as intermediate of amino acid, medicine, surfactant and others without restriction by olefins employed.
CONSTITUTION: The reaction between an olefin of formula I (R1WR3 are H, halogen, cyano, alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, R1, R2, R3 combine together to form at least 3C organic cyclic group) and an α-halogenocarboxylic trialkylsilyl ester of formula II (R4 is H, halogen, 1W4C alkyl; X is halogen; R5 is 1W4C alkyl) is carried out in the presence of a catalyst of ruthenium or rhodium complex having trivalent organophosphorus compound as a ligand to produce the objective compound of formula III. These compounds are important as synthetic intermediate of unsaturated lactones with carcinostatic activity such as Δα,β-butenolide or α-methylene-γ-butyrolactone.
