Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase conductivity in solid electrolyte by using a 4-component system consisting of LiI, AgI, Ag2O, and an oxide of group VIb element in a specific molar ratio. CONSTITUTION:In molar %, LiI: 0.01-60%, AgI: 0.5-99.9%, Ag2O: 0-49%, and MO2 or MO3 (M is one or more of S, Se, Te, Po of group VIb): 0-49% are mixed in dry atmosphere to provide a mixture comprising 0-95% of Ag2O+ MO2(MO3). The mixture is sealed in a silica ampule, etc. in vacuum, melted by heating in a specific condition, and rapidly cooled to be glassified. This rapid cooling from molten state provides glassy solid electrolyte having good conductivity in wide range of composition.
