Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a small-size cell having high cell performance and less self- dischargeability as well as high reliability by using a solid electrolyte composed of a specific composition of LiI-AgI-Ag2O-MO2 system (M is one or more of S, Se, Te, and Po), etc. CONSTITUTION:The solid electrolyte 4, consisting of the quaternary component system LiI-AgI-Ag2O-MO2 (or MO3) (M is one or more of S, Se, Te, and Po), in which LiI is 0.01-60mol%, AgI is 0.5-99.9mol%, Ag2O is 0-49mol%, and MO2 (or MO3) is 0-95mol%, is used. A part of the said MO2 (or MO3) may be substituted with one or more of the oxides of the elements in the IIIb, IVa, IVb, Va, VIa, VII, and VIII groups. And, as the cathodic active substance 3, Li, Ag, etc., is used, and also as the anodic active substance 5, a charge-transfer complex containing iodine, silver oxide, or silver sulfide is used in order to form a solid electrolyte cell.
