Abstract
PURPOSE: To simply recover carbon from high-carbon waste product by its incomplate combustion followed by introduction of generated smoke into water for carbon recovery.
CONSTITUTION: High-carbon waste product such as used tire is charged in the body 4 of a furnace 1 having a roaster 6 on the inner bottom and covered with a top lid 5. The quantity of supplied air is controlled by a regulator 8 mounted at an air linlet 7 so that waste A is incompletely burnt to produced smoke contg. a large quantity of carbon. The smoke is passed through a flue 14, and a fan 2 to enter a treatment tank 3, and the smoke is jetted into water 13 from a diffusion plate 15 having a peripheral downward brim 15a and many holes 16. This allows carbon C in the smoke to be collected on the bottom of body 11 of the tank 3 and recovered. Air jetted together with smoke is filtered by a filter 19 mounted on a lid 12 of the tank 3 and discharged from an outlet 20.
