Abstract

PURPOSE: To considerably improve equipment cost, yield, etc. and obtain the metal sheet inexpensively by letting the molten alloy ooze or overflow onto the surface of a cooling body, such as a revolving roll, positioned in the upper part, from the molten metal outlet providing to a die thereby solidifying the same.

The overflowed molten metal 2 is contacted with the surface of the revolving metal roll 6, by which a continuous slab 7 is obtained while it is being cooled and solified. This method eliminates conventional laborious processes, considerably reduces equipment cost and energy consumption, and yields the metal sheet inexpensively without requiring precision controlling and skill.
