Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the adhered material which accumulate on an EGR throttle and facilitate manufacuring by arranging the valve seat of the EGR valve and the EGR throttle for restricting the maximum exhaust gas flow amount separately and reducing the length along the direction of exhaust gas stream in the EGR throttle.
CONSTITUTION: An EGR valve 20 contains a valve body 24 consisting of an exhaust gas inflow port 24a and exhaust gas discharge port 24b, and a valve body 32 linked, through a shaft 30, with a diaphragm 28 which is moved up and down according to a control signal (negative pressure signal), and the valve body 32 contacts with a valve seat 40 which is fitted on the valve body 24. In this case, separately from the annular valve seat 40, is formed an EGR throttle 42 which restricts the maximum exhaust geas flow amount. This EGR throttle 42 has an extremely short length along the direction of exhaust gas flow (for example, below 1/4 of the throttle diameter), and is fixed onto the valve body 24 by the valve seat 40.
