Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve efficiency of operation in the maintenance of sea-water pump, by connecting a sea-water pump fixed to the outer wall surface of engine block to the pump shaft protruded to the outside through the wall of engine block on the side taking out power for driving auxiliary machinery.
CONSTITUTION: Flywheel 9 is fixed to one end of crank shaft 8, and the other end of crank shaft 8 is extended through cylinder block 4 and gear case 14 which forms gear room 13 between itself and cylinder block 4. A pulley 15 for taking out power for driving auxiliary machinery is fixed at said other end portion of crank shaft 8 protruded to the outside, and the crank shaft 8 is connected to cam shaft 16 by the intermediary of gears 17, 18. Further, gear 17 of cam shaft 16 is held in mesh with driven gear 23 of intermediate shaft 22 extended in gear room 13, which is in turn held in mesh with gear 25 of pump shaft 24 for driving sea- water pump 35.
