CONSTITUTION:A piston 2 telescoped in a cylinder 1 is interlocked through a connecting rod 3 to a crankshaft 4. This reciprocating engine becomes at a maximum at the internal pressure in the cylinder 1 at the position where the piston 2 exceeds the top dead point (where the piston 2 is disposed as designated by solid lines). The axis 5 of the cylinder and the axis 6 of the crankshaft are separated at an interval a at this position to thereby transmit the maximum pressure in the cylinder effectively to the piston in its rotating direction.
