Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve a thermal efficiency by a method wherein a planetary gear is secured to the shaft at the crank side of an arm connected to a connecting rod while a sun gear is secured to a crank shaft respectively. CONSTITUTION:The shafts 6, 7 of the arm 5 are fitted to the connecting rod 2 and the crank 3 rotatably respectively and the sun gear B, to which a gear C is secured, is mounted to the crank shaft 4, to which the gear D is secured, rotatably, while the planetary gear A secured to the shaft 7 is meshed with the gear B and the gears E, F secured to an output shaft 8 and the gears D, C are meshed respectively. The gear B is rotated by two rotations into the same direction at every one rotation of the crank 3 while the arm 5 and the gear A are rotatd by a half rotation into reverse directions. According to this method, a piston stroke and a shaft output per a suction volume is increased and the thermal efficiency may be improved without deteriorating the combustion performance of the engine.
