Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain granular solidified substance, which is made harmless and has strength, by a method wherein bottom mud depositing on the bottom of the water of rivers, lakes and marshes, a sea area, etc. is dried, granulated and burnt.
CONSTITUTION: Bottom mud depositing on the bottom of the water of rivers, lakes, marshes and the sea area, etc. is dried by means of the sun, electric drying, etc., and granulated in the shape of a spherical shape, etc., and the granulated substance is burnt below the temperature of 950W1250°C, thus forming granular solidified substance. The granular solidified substance obtained is sufficiently sintered, is insoluble in water, completely renders deleterious materials, and has stable strength in the extent which can substitute for natural aggregate, such as gravel, rubble, etc. though its strength is slightly inferior to the strength of these aggregate. Thus, the bottom mud can be solidified by components which bottom mud itself contains without requiring the solidification of cement, etc., and the volume of the bottom mud can further be reduced extremely.
