Abstract
PURPOSE: To produce the cast ingot having the solidification structure dispersed with primary crystal grains in the matrix and having sound characteristic by determining adequate apparent viscosity, the stirring time after the arrival of eutectic temperature, etc. at the time of ingot making or casting for semi-molten slurry production.
CONSTITUTION: With respect to the alloy the component system in which the calculated solidus rate corresponding to the predictable eutectic temperature corresponds to 0.65 under, the following are done in order to make its solidification structure into the structure in which the grains of the primary crystals are evenly dispersed and provide the cast ingot superior in both quality and characteristic. Namely, when the apparent viscosity approaches to such a calculated solidus rate which corresponds to the eutectic temperature from poise or more, the semi-molten slurry alloy is produced within the range up to 40 poise and it is made into ingot or cast. When the abrupt increase in the apparent viscosity occurs after the arrival of the eutectic temperature, the ingot making or casting of the semi-molten slurry alloy is executed within the time at which the value of the apparent viscosity reaches the range from 5W40 poise.
