Abstract

PURPOSE: The electrolytic bath for anodic oxidation coloring of Al of superior throwing power obtainable by adding the specific amounts of sulfosalicylic acid and sulfuric acid to water.
CONSTITUTION: The acidic aqueous solution containing sulfosalicylic acid; 1 to 10wt% and sulfuric acid; 0.04 to 0.08wt% (but also contains the sulfuric acid contained in sulfosalicylic acid) at these concentrations.
USE: Parts such as of Al or Al alloys are dipped as anode in the electrolytic bath of the above composition and direct current is supplied between the same and cathode. A beautiful and even yellow brown anodic oxidation film is formed on the Al, Al alloy parts.
