Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce the captioned slag which gives high cement strength with less power consumption for disintegration by flowing molten blast-furnace slag into the grooves of the specific shape formed in plurality on the front side of a required number of plate-form metal members which are endless connected and move continuously in the specified direction. CONSTITUTION:Grooves 10 of gradually decreasing widths toward the bottom are formed in plurality on the front side of plate-form metal members 2 constituting a conveyor unit 1. The top opening widths of these grooves are made 3 to 10 mm and their depths 2 to 20 times the above-mentioned opening widths. The slag 5 being discharged from the tundish 3 provided on the effluent end of a trough 4 which flows out molten slag 5 is flowed into the grooves 10 of the members 2 and makes contact with the opposing faces 11, 12 of the grooves 10, whereby it is efficiently cooled. The vibrating ends 6a of a vibrator unit 6 give vibrations to the side faces of the members 2 during moving in the positions immediate after their front and back faces turn over, thereby dropping the solidfied slag 7 in the grooves 10 into a slag receiver 8. A water discharge unit 9 discharges water to the members 2 thereby cooling these.
