Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable efficient saving, by accurately discriminating the presence of the objective signal within the gate signal period with the output of squelch circuit. CONSTITUTION:In the saving circuit minimizing the wear of battery of a portable radio set, radio signal is received at the reception section 21, the squelch circuit 23 is connected to the reception section 21, and the intermittent signal of reference is oscillated so that the power supply of the reception section 21 in the oscillator 24 can be turned on and off with a given period. Further, the gate circuit 25 produces the gate signal which turns on a given time after the power supply OFF and turns off a given time before the power supply OFF to discriminate the presence of the objective signal within the gate signal period from the output of the squelch circuit 23. Thus, the presence of the signal can accurately be discriminated to effectively perform saving.
