PURPOSE:To decrease the power consumption, by taking a time detecting an output frequency from a voltage controlled oscillator introducing a local oscillation frequency signal as a power energizing period shorter in a predetermined pause period. CONSTITUTION:After a signal received at an antenna 1 is amplified at a high frequency amplifying circuit 2, it is mixed with a local oscillation frequency signal from a line 4 at a mixing circuit 3 and outputted from a speaker 8 via an intermediate frequency amplifying circuit 5 and a demodulation circuit 6. On the other hand, an output of a voltage controlled oscillator 9 supplying a local oscillation frequency signal to the mixing circuit 3 is given to a counter 14. The counter 14 is energized for a short power energizing period with a switch 15 for count down operation and given the output to a microcomputer 11. The voltage controlled oscillator 9 changes an output frequency with an output converting an analog output from the microcomputer 11 with an AD converter 13.
