Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce power consumption greatly by continuously supplying electric power to a receiver only when a tone squelch signal is outputted and by intermittently supplying the electric power to the receiver at cycles where a received signal is detected when no tone squelch signal is outputted. CONSTITUTION:A radio wave received by antenna 1 is inputted from reception part 4 to tone squelch circuit 6 with power source 9 turned on. At this time, a tone squelch signal outputted from circuit 6 is inputted to control circuit 8 via switch circuit 5. This circuit 8 supplies a power current from power source 9 to receiver 3 via switch 10. While reception is held in readiness, no signal is inputted from antenna 1 to reception part 4, so no tone squelch signal is outputted from circuit 6. The power current from power source 9 is inputted to oscillating circuit 11 with switch 10 turned off by control circuit 8 and switch 12 is switched at prescribed cycles to supply the power current to receiver 3. Thus, the power consumption is reduced greatly.
