Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a neutral tint recording by completing the formation of ink drop when the voltage value reaches a level that is proportional to the weight of ink drop in a fixed voltage wave form applied to the charging electrode and by performing the deflection at uniform acceleration even though the size of ink drop varies. CONSTITUTION:An electric signal is provided from the signal source 7 on synchronizing itself with the saw tooth wave which is applied to the charging electrode 6 by the voltage applying means 5 with a period of ink drop formation, the signal is delayed a fixed time by the delay circuit 8 according to the size of ink drop (amplitude of electric signal) and is fed to the piezo-electric vibrator 2 to form the ink drop. The delay quantity is selected so that voltage v1 of the electrode 6 at the time t1 is proportional to the weight of ink drop to be formed when the ink is cut by the nozzle 3. Because the ratio of the charge quantity to the weight of ink drop is kept constant althrough the size of ink drop varies, the acceleration received from the deflecting electrode 9 is constant even to varied weights of ink drops, the quantity of deflection is not changed.
