Abstract

PURPOSE:To print characters, symbols and the like is magnified form with a simple construction by performing a control the jet angle of a nozzle head in a vertical movement manner. CONSTITUTION:When printing a large character, an output (a) is produced from a timing signal generation circuit 21 in such a manner that a saw tooth wave (b) is generated between a0-a1 corresponding to bits at a lower half of a character generator 23 from a saw tooth wave generation circuit 22 while the generator 23 provides a charge timing signal (c). These signals (b) and (c) are applied to a modulator 24 and a charging signal (d) is amplified and applied to a charge electrode 11. At this point, a signal (a) to be applied to a circuit 20 for driving a jet angle varying device is zero, hence there is no variation in the jet angle of a nozzle head, and printing is performed corresponding to the lower half of a character. Then, the saw tooth wave (b) is generated again between a1 and a2 to read out bits at an upper half thereof. The jet angle varying device 11 is actuated by the output a herein produced to incline upward the nozzle head and a printing is performed corresponding to the upper half of the character.
