Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the transmission of the vertical vibration of vibration-source side steel sheet pile walls to construction side ones and maintaining the strength between the walls, by a method wherein spacers are provided in the upper and lower portions of the spaces furnished between a plurality of steel sheet pile walls driven into the ground.
CONSTITUTION: A lubricating layer 8 made of rubber for example is monolithically fastened to the tip surface of a lower steel spacer 6 with adhesive for example. U-type steel sheet piles 11A and 11B with a lower spacer are constructed by welding the base end portion of the spacer 6 to the inner or outer face of the lower portion of the web of a U-type steel sheet pile 10 having an engaging joint 9 on the both sides. Further, a lubricating layer 12 made of rubber for example is fastened monolithically to the both side faces of the upper spacer 5 with adhesive for example. The upper end portion of th spacer 5 is placed on the lower side at the center of a steel upper lid 13 with downward opening groove form and, with the side plate of the lid 13 and layer 12 placed in parallel, fastened to the lid 13 by welding for example. Further, a vibration insulating plate 14 made of an elastic material such as rubber is fastened between the spacer 5 and the side plate of the lid 13. Numeral 4 denotes the space between the walls 2 and 3.
