Abstract

PURPOSE: The composition for castings of low odor and superior workability suitable for a high frequency hardening method obtainable by compounding oligoester methacrylate or oligoester acrylate, a peroxide catalyst and hardening accelerator to silica sand.
CONSTITUTION: The composition obtainable by compounding oligoester methacrylate or oligoester acrylate at 0.5 to 10wt% based on the weight of silica sand, a peroxide catalyst at 0.1 to 10wt% based on the weight of the abovementioned oligoester (metha)acrylate and a hardening accelerator at 10 to 70wt% based on the weight of the abovementioned peroxide catalyst, respectively to silica sand. This composition is suited for a high frequency or microwave hardening method and since it does not require high temperature for reaction, it does not produce mal-odor and harmful materials. In addition superior fabrication workability may be realized.
