Abstract

PURPOSE: To minimize energy loss caused at joining a plurality of flows, by providing a vane extending axially outwards from the outlet of turbine, and joining exhaust gas discharged from a waste gate valve into exhaust gas flow from the outlet of turbine after the flow of exhaust gas from the waste gate valve is deflected by the vane and joined into the direction parallel with the axis of turbine.
CONSTITUTION: At the outlet of turbine 4, a cylindrical vane wall 10 is formed integrally of turbine housing 1. This vane wall 10 can be fabricated separately of the turbine housing 1 and thereafter fixed to the housing 1. Length of the vane wall 10 is so selected that it is sufficiently long for deflecting exhaust gas flowing radially from port 6 associated with waste gate valve 5 into a direction substantially parallel to the axis (a) of turbine 4. With such an arrangement, exhaust gas discharged from port 6 flows into the space formed on the outside of cylindrical wall 10 and joins smoothly into flow of exhaust gas discharged from the outlet of turbine 4 after its flow is delfected into a direction substantially parallel with the axis a of turbine 4, so that energy loss caused in joining the above two flows can be minimized.
