Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the stage head performance, by providing numerous antileakage pieces continually in the circumferential direction between radial fins mounted in two or four lines in the axial direction to reduce the circumferential movement of vortex and increase the number of times of leakage flow restriction. CONSTITUTION:A circumferential leakage flow preventer 33 consists of anti-leakge piece fitting plates 34 fixed in diaphragm walls 3 and having an axial length of l in the axial length L of radial fins 6a, 6b and the anti-leakage pieces 35 perpendicularly fixed to the fitting pieces. Leakage stream 53 branching from the main stage fall stream flows in at an incident angle of theta1 to the direction perpendicular to the turbine axis and is sequentially constricted at a point X1 on the radial fin 6a and then at points X2, X3, X4 by the anti-leakage pieces 35 provided continually in the circumferential direction. The leaking stream is finally constricted at a point X5 on the radial fin 6b. Therefore, the effect of leakage prevention is heightened.
