Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce a hollow resin molding economically and freely from material and heat losses by cutting a parison into a sheet having a width adapted to a metallic die width an the inside or outside of an extruder outlet and immediately molding the still hot sheet in the metallic die.
CONSTITUTION: A parison 3 is cut to a width adapted to metallic die molding by a cutting edge 5 located at the inside or outside of an outlet 2 of an extruder 1 and is immediately molded in the metallic die. For example, the cutting edge 5 fixed to a rod 4 having the same width as that of the outlet 2 of the extruder 1 is inserted inside the outlet 2, and the parison 3 extruded from the outlet 2 is formed into a sheet-shaped material which is immediately held between the metallic die halves 6. Then, the parison 3 is closely pressed to a concavity 8 in the metallic die 6 with the air or gas blown through a vent hole 7 so that a convexity 9 is formed on the parison 3. When the rod 4 having the cutting edge 5 fixed thereto, is removed from a stem 10, it becomes possible to extrude the parison 3 of cylindrical shape from the extruder 1.
