Abstract
PURPOSE: To enable the quick starting of a turbine rotor and its follow-up to a load, by using the speed-up rate as a control parameter for the starting of the rotor and the load variation rate as a control parameter for the on-load run of the rotor, predicting the thermal stress of the rotor in consideration of the degree of vacuum of a steam condenser and comparing the predicted stress with a limit value to determine an optimal level.
CONSTITUTION: A digital computer is provided in a thermal stress prediction turbine control system 100. The temperature T1' of a fluid as a function of a compensated value L' of the load L under a rated condition, the fluid temperature difference Δt0 between the upstream and downstream sides of a regulating valve 11, the passage area reduction ratio K1 of the valve 11 and a temperature reduction coefficient K2 are determined from the load L and the temperature TMS and pressure PMS of main steam by the control system 100 to estimate the steam condition after a first stage. The speed-up rate N' of a turbine, its speed N, the pressure PCON of the steam condenser 5 and no-load running fluid pressure P10 as a function of the temperature TMS are determined. Fluid pressure PH1 and temperature TH1 are determined as functions of said values N', N, PCON, P10. When the predicted stress is lower than the limit value, a load application permission 15 is given to a synchronous application means 14 and an optimal speed-up rate 4 is applied as a setpoint to a governor 10 and an optimal load variation rate 6 is applied as a setpoint to an ALR 7. The quick starting of the rotor and its follow- up to the load can thus be effected within an allowable stress range.
