Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent an excessively large stress from appearing in a rotor of a turbine upon application of parallel loads thereto by constituting the control system therefore such that an assumption is had after reaching the rated speed that an initial load is applied to the turbine, and then a forecast is made of a stress which is to appear in the rotor due to the load whereafter the forecasted stress is compared with a predetermined allowable stress in order to provide parallel load allowing conditions.
CONSTITUTION: A basic function of a control system 100 calculates, before entering a parallel load running, a stress which is forecasted to appear after entering the parallel load running, and compares the forecasted stress with an allowable predetermined stress to provide a parallel load allowance instruction 15 to a synchronous parallel load function 14. Whether a judging operation is required or not for judgement of parallel load allowance is judged by a judgement 130 therefor. A flow of processes is changed over to a parallel load allowance judgement 131 if a breaker 16 is in OFF position, and to an optimum load changing rate determination 144 if the breaker 16 is in ON position. As a result of the parallel load allowance judgement 131, a parallel load allowing instruction is applied to the synchronous parallel load function 14 if the allowable load changing rate is not judged as hold, whereas a parallel load inhibiting instruction is applied if the allowable load changing rate is judged as hold.
