Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize the method suited to flaw detection of the inside of tube body, by disposing transmission and reception coils opposedly to the magnet being close to the inside of the object being detected, and detecting the surface defect by moving the magnet and transmission and reception coils in harmony.
CONSTITUTION: A magnet 2 is disposed being close to the outer face of the object being detected 3, and has a contact roller 7 in the lower part thereof in a way that it can move parallel to weld part 3', and is suspended by a holding member 17 which is engaged with a screw shaft 16 rotated by a rotation driving device 12 and is designed to move in the direction of arrow L. In the inside of the object 3 provided opposedly to the magnet 2, a transmission/reception coil 1 is disposed being close to the inside of tube. The coil 1 is fitted to the end of a supporting bar 11, and is moved in synchronism with the magnet 2 by means of a rotation driving device 13 which rotates in harmony with the device 12 parallel to the weld part down to the extreme end of the object 3. By disposing the magnet large in dimensions and weight outside of the tube for the convenience of moving and maintenance, and disposing the coil 1 small in both dimensions and weight inside the tube, the flaw detection job may be facilirated.
